The woman said the incident occurred when she booked an Uber Moto ride to go from Sector 46 in Noida to Botanical Garden metro station on Sunday morning.

According to the woman, the situation escalated when the driver asked her to cancel the trip so that he could reroute and pick up a package. When she refused, he began taking an alternative route, insisting on making the delivery first.

“Had one of the worst experiences with Uber Moto in Noida today. First, the driver asked me to cancel my trip and ride with him separately to Botanical Garden metro station. I refused. Then he took my ride. Near Sector 46, he took a “I chose a different route because he wanted to pick up a package from the porter,” she wrote in her post.

Despite her attempts to get him to drop her off as planned, the driver became increasingly agitated.

“I told him he could take me to the Botanical Gardens and then collect his delivery. He got angry and said he WILL accept the delivery whether I want it or not. He turned his bike around and took a detour (sic),” she wrote in her post.

The woman felt threatened, expressed her frustration and threatened to report the matter to the police. In response, the driver dropped her off in the middle of the road, leaving her shaken and frightened. Luckily, she was able to hail an autorickshaw to reach her destination.

“He started shouting at me and then randomly dropped me somewhere in the middle of the road in Sector 46… I was really scared,” she narrated the disturbing incident.

Uber's response

After the incident, she filed a complaint with Uber. The company responded with an apology and assured her that they would look into the issue and strive for better service in the future.

The incident came just weeks after a cyclist sexually assaulted a stewardess and tried to kill her when she fought back.
