“Towels are worth a lot of money!” Joe Rogan jokes in the GRAPHIC scene as Khalil Rountree loses blood after the UFC 307 loss

The UFC 307 main event was one of the most barbaric main event title fights in recent memory. champion Alex Pereira and challengers Khalil Roundtree put on an incredible show for the audience, who couldn't contain their excitement. Joe Rogan was also impressed by the fight and had an unusual interaction with Rountree, who unfortunately lost the fight.

At the start of the fight, Rountree promised fans a thrilling showdown, and he delivered on that despite the loss. The American fighter gave Pereira his toughest fight of 2024 and was punched in the face by the Brazilian in return. During the post-fight Octagon interview, Rountree had blood coming from his nose, which caught Rogan off guard.

Both Rogan and fight fans gave Rountree his flowers for going the distance and putting up a fight with Pereira. Rountree showed great heart and was happy with his performance. He accepted the defeat with grace and definitely won a lot of new fans.

Rountree demonstrated his Muay Thai kicks and was extremely quick with his hands, causing problems for the champion. He managed to land various combos to which “Poatan” had no reaction. However, as the game progressed, Rountree ran out of energy, which led to his defeat.

Alex Pereira took part in six championship fights, most of which ended in the first rounds. However, gladly Israel AdesanyaKhalil Rountree was able to drag Pereira deep into the fight. While Pereira wasn't very effective with punches, his kicks to Rountree's legs continued to compound the damage.

After the third round, Rountree appeared exhausted and Pereira took advantage and secured the TKO victory. He showed patience and ultimately didn't rush the finishing sequence. Instead, he aimed at the right moment. During the Octagon interview, the Brazilian explained his game plan.

That was one of the toughest fights, that's what I expected. I saw a lot of his fights, I studied his fights… The plan was to tire him out. I saw that in the second round he started to drain his stamina, and as you know my stamina only goes up, so that's exactly what happened.

Poatan was respectful towards Rountree and both fighters hugged each other in a comforting moment after the fight. It was Alex Pereira's third successful title defense in seven months, which is an all-time UFC record. It would be interesting to see what the fighter plans to do in the coming months.
