Silent Hill 2: Enhanced Edition is the best way to play the game on PC

The Bloober Team-led remake of Silent Hill 2 is out next week – and according to reviews, including our own, the team is mostly doing it right! – but that’s four days and a weekend. Although patience is a virtue, sometimes we are not always virtuous. Luckily, Silent Hill fans – especially the group of 15+ modders who have developed Silent Hill 2: Enhanced Edition over the last six years – have just the thing to see you through until the remake's release.

If you have a gaming PC and can't wait, or if you'd rather return to the foggy memories (and city) of your youth, but not necessarily the foggy graphics, consider the fan project Enhanced Edition released last The tenth and final update of the survival horror classic was released this month. The latest update includes “improved environmental aspects, restored flashlight reflections, improved water rendering, true 60fps FMVs, a ton of general gameplay improvements” in addition to key Enhanced Edition upgrades like widescreen support, higher resolution graphics, upscaled fonts, etc. and so much more.
