Hudson Valley travelers have cheaper flight options from a number of New York airports to popular vacation destinations.

Breeze Airways has officially begun flights to an additional Florida destination from Stewart Airport

New York Stewart International Airport to Fort Myers, Florida

Flights began Wednesday from New York Stewart International Airport to Fort Myers, Florida.

Breeze Airways flies from Orange County Airport, New York to Fort Myers, Florida on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

The company notes that the frequency of flights is adjusted depending on the season.

The airline has also announced a number of new routes from other New York airports.

From Newburgh, NY to Vero Beach, FL

Breeze confirmed plans to fly from Stewart Airport to Vero Beach, Florida, on Thursdays and Sundays beginning November 21.

“Breeze is about connecting cities without existing nonstop options,” said David Neeleman, CEO of Breeze Airways. “It’s exciting to add two more cities to our national network and more nonstop routes to our Florida and West Coast destinations, combined with an affordable, world-class leisure experience.”

JetBlue founder David Neeleman founded his much-discussed airline start-up Breeze Airways in 2020.

Officials said Breeze's landing in New York state was a “huge victory” for everyone.

From Long Island-Islip, NY to Vero Beach, FL

Flights from Long Island-Islip to Vero Beach, Florida, were expanded Wednesday. Breeze now flies four times a week, Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

From Westchester County Airport

In April, Breeze announced new services from Westchester County Airport including:

• Jacksonville, FL (Tuesday and Saturday)
• Myrtle Beach, SC (Wed, Thu, Sat and Sun)
• Norfolk, VA (Mon and Fri)
• Portland, ME (Thursday and Sunday)
• Raleigh-Durham, NC (Mon and Fri, beginning May 3, plus Wed service June 26 through October)

Note: Some routes are seasonal.

Breeze's strategy is similar to that of Allegiant Air and other low-cost airlines such as Spirit and Frontier, officials note.

Earlier this year, JetBlue made the puzzling decision to officially exit Stewart Airport.
