Upstate woman dies after being thrown from car

ANDERSON, SC (FOX Carolina) – The Anderson County coroner confirms a person is dead after being thrown from their car.

Coroner Greg Shore said: The accident occurred this afternoon at approximately 2:15 p.m. on Highway 76 (Clemson Blvd) near Williams Street.

Officials said the victim was a passenger in a vehicle traveling east on Highway 76 when the driver lost control, went off the right side of the road and rolled over.

The victim, 55-year-old Susan Burdette of Anderson County, was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. Burdette was ejected from the car and suffered multiple traumatic injuries.

She was taken to AnMed's emergency room where she succumbed to her injuries shortly after arriving at the hospital. The driver of the vehicle was also treated at the scene and taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
