After Delhi, narcotics were seized in Bhopal today | India's Biggest Drug Crimes | Latest News India

Just days after Delhi Police busted one of India's biggest drug crimes by seizing cocaine worth more than $100,000 Authorities seized MD drugs (Mephedrone) and its raw materials worth over ₹ 5,600 crore 1,400 crore from a factory in Bhopal, Gujarat Minister Harsh Sanghavi announced. The joint drug raid was carried out by the Gujarat Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) and the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB).

“Kudos to Gujarat ATS and NCB (Ops), Delhi, for a massive victory in the war against drugs! Recently, they raided a factory in Bhopal and seized MD and materials used in manufacturing MD, totaling a staggering value 1814 crores,” Gujarat minister Sanghvi wrote in an X post, formerly Twitter.

When Delhi police seized cocaine 5,600 crore followed by 1,800 crore drug bust in Bhopal, here are some of the biggest drug busts in the country so far.

October 2024: Cocaine worth over 5,000 Crore seized in Delhi

On Wednesday, Delhi Police busted an international drug syndicate and seized more than 560 kg of cocaine and 40 kg of hydroponic marijuana with an estimated market value from a godown outlet 5,620 crore.

Tushar Goyal, 40, has been identified as the mastermind of the Delhi drug bust, a senior police officer said. Apart from Goyal, police also arrested three other people – Himanshu Kumar, Aurangzeb Siddiqui from Delhi and Bharat Kumar Jain from Mumbai.

February 2024: 3,300 kg of narcotics: NCB drug bust in Gujarat

In a joint operation by the Indian Navy, Narcotics Control Bureau and Gujarat Police in February this year, Indian authorities seized 3,300 kg of drugs.

Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) director general SN Pradhan said the seized drugs could be worth anything 1,300 and 2,000 crore in the international market.

May 2023: Worth medication 15,000 crore looted in Kerala

In a major seizure in May 2023, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) seized around 2,500 kg of high-purity methamphetamine worth 15,000 crore in Indian waters and arrested a suspected Pakistani national in this connection.

The operation was carried out jointly by the Indian Navy and the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB).

February 2024: 1,700 kg of narcotics found in Pune

In February 2024, Pune city police uncovered one of India's largest drug hauls of all time. The criminal police confiscated mephedrone worth around 1,700 kg 3,000 crore in several raids on a chemical factory in Daund Taluka and some shops in South Extension in New Delhi.

October 2024: Drug raid in Bhopal 1,800 crore

Indian authorities confiscated MD drugs (Mephedrone) and its raw materials worth ₹6,000 on October 6 1,814 crore from a factory in Madhya Pradesh's Bhopal, Gujarat Minister Harsh Sanghavi said.

Two people, Amit Chaturvedi and Sanyal Prakash Bane, were arrested during the raid.
