Two injured in shooting in Paterson

Passaic County authorities are investigating a shooting incident that injured two victims in Paterson Saturday evening.The incident occurred around 8:50 p.m. when police responded to reports of shots fired near 27 Park Avenue.

Upon arrival, officers found a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the head.

He was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital where he remains in serious condition.

While police and investigators from the Passaic County District Attorney's Office searched the crime scene for evidence, a second person was discovered with a gunshot wound in the 700 block of Main Street.

This victim was also transported to the hospital for treatment. Authorities believe the second victim may be connected to the Park Avenue shooting.

The investigation is ongoing and no further details have been released at this time.
