Police made their grim discovery around 9 a.m. local time on Friday after gaining entry to her apartment and finding the dead content creator naked in bed.

The 36-year-old, known online as La Barbie Regia and Ana Fabiola had suffered stab wounds to their necks and injuries to other parts of their bodies and were said to have been found with a pillow over their faces.

The influencer lived in the Mexican city of Monterrey.

Under the name Ana Fabiola, the Mexican beauty had more than 10,200 fans on Instagram.

She described herself as a “love entrepreneur, beauty queen and model” as well as a Catholic and a fan of Monterrey-based football club Tigres.

In her latest post on the site, she showed herself dancing provocatively to the music in a thong and skimpy top.

In another recent post on her Instagram, she posted a selfie along with a message that said, “A smile is the curve that makes everything okay.”

According to local reports, a man believed to be Cindy's boyfriend regularly visited her apartment in a Monterrey neighborhood known as Leones, arriving in a black car or a white van.

It is not yet clear whether he has already been tracked down and questioned

The investigators are checking whether the murder victim's activity as a companion also played a role in the accident.

One female fan wrote online: “I didn't know her personally but her murder shocked me.

“I read that a lot of people made fun of her because she was a 'you know what,' but there is no justification for someone to end someone else's life like that, leaving a little boy orphaned and a family leaves you heartbroken.”

Another said: “I imagine there are cameras in the area and I hope this crime doesn't go unpunished.”

“It doesn’t matter what she did, she didn’t deserve to die this way.
“Nobody has the right to do something like that.

“I hope that justice is served for Cindy and that God protects her son from anything bad.”

There were no arrests.
