JSCC CGL 2024: #Cancel_JSSC_CGL trends as aspirants demand cancellation of Jharkhand graduate recruitment exam

Cancel JSCC CGL 2024: The controversy surrounding the JSSC CGL 2024 (Jharkhand Personnel Selection Commission The number of candidates taking exams at the Combined Graduate Level has increased Jharkhand calls for the cancellation of this year's exam. Allegations of paper leaks and repeated questions have sparked outrage and led to widespread protests and the #Cancel_JSSC_CGL trend on social media platforms such as X (formerly Twitter).
The JSSC CGL exam, held on September 21 and 22, 2024, was marred by serious allegations of corruption and mismanagement. Applicants claim that exam papers were leaked, which compromised the integrity of the recruitment process. In addition, several candidates expressed concerns about repeating questions from previous exams, which further increased dissatisfaction.
As the allegations gained traction, students took to social media, with many voicing their anger and frustration. X in particular was flooded with posts under the hashtag #Cancel_JSSC_CGL calling for the exam to be canceled.
Roughly translated: “The JSSC CGL paper leak is a multi-billion dollar racket, which is why they are so persistent. We will not allow poor students' rights to be stolen. We will ensure that the exam is canceled. Call us brokers or part of a gang, but you can’t distract us from the paper leak problem.”

In addition to online protests, students also organized torchlight marches across various districts of Jharkhand on Saturday, showing their collective discontent and determination. The demonstrators are demanding a fair investigation into the alleged irregularities and an immediate cancellation of the investigation results.
The Commission's response and current status
Following the widespread outcry, the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) was under intense scrutiny. The commission released an answer key for the exam, but the final results were delayed due to the ongoing allegations. The JSSC responded by giving applicants the opportunity to submit evidence to support their claims.
On October 6, 2024, the Commission issued a notice to the complainants asking them to appear at the JSSC office in Ranchi with substantive evidence. JSSC secretary Sudhir Gupta stressed that the investigation into the alleged irregularities was ongoing. In particular, the Commission has asked the complainants to provide original evidence such as CDs, USB sticks and photographs allegedly documenting the leaked material. However, previous submissions were found to be blank or incomplete, delaying the investigation process.
A letter from the JSSC said: “The complainants have been asked to submit to the Commission by October 7 the evidence of the complaints related to irregularities in the examination and their source, as well as an affidavit. If this does not happen, the Commission will file a final decision based on the current evidence.”
The statement clarified that no affidavit has yet been filed regarding the veracity of the photos and videos on the USB sticks provided and that the investigation is still incomplete due to a lack of solid evidence.
Growing pressure on the state government
Pressure is now growing on the Jharkhand state government and Chief Minister Hemant Soren to intervene in the matter. Many students and politicians are calling on the government to take a stand and protect the integrity of the state education system. An X user who was addressed directly to the Prime Minister: “माननीय मुख्यमंत्ी @hemantorenjmm जी जी शिक्षा व्यवस्था को को बचाने के छात्ों में निष speech निष sal छ
Roughly translated: “Honable Chief Minister Hemant Soren must take a strict and impartial decision to save the education system of Jharkhand for the welfare of students.”

Similarly, another aspirant tweeted asking the government to act quickly to prevent further injustice to the unemployed youth of the state:
“JSSC CGL is no longer available HemantSorenJMM has conducted a series of tests को ख़ुद रद्द करवा दीजिए, कलंक मिट जाएग ाऔर”
Translated roughly: “There was massive corruption in the JSSC CGL exam, Hemant Soren. The government still has the option to cancel the exam itself to remove this taint and ensure that no injustice happens to the unemployed youth.”

As the controversy intensifies, it remains uncertain what action the JSSC or the state government will take. The Commission gave the complainants until October 7 to provide substantial evidence of the irregularities. If substantial evidence of the alleged paper leaks is provided, it could lead to the cancellation of the exam, as demanded by thousands of aspirants. On the other hand, if no such evidence is found, it is expected that the results will be announced amid unrest in the student community.
