Four people were arrested on drug charges in North Adams

The North Adams Police Department reports there were four arrests Thursday, all related to drug busts.

Police said members of their detective unit executed a search warrant at a residence in North Adams that was being used for narcotics distribution.

During the search, investigators said they seized crack cocaine, digital scales, packaging material and US money in connection with illegal drug sales. Police said they had arrested a man from the investigation and charged him with possession of a Class B substance with intent to distribute.

Police said later in the day that detectives conducted a motor vehicle stop that came to a stop over the city limits in Adams.

The driver of the vehicle had a suspended license and was arrested, police said.

North Adams police said based on investigators' observations at the scene, there was probable cause to search the vehicle and the two other occupants of the vehicle.

Investigators say they found crack cocaine, heroin, pills believed to contain fentanyl, digital scales, packaging materials and U.S. currency related to illegal drug sales. Police say this was unrelated to the search warrant earlier in the day.

North Adams police said they arrested all three men from the vehicle, all from Pittsfield, and filed the following charges:

  • Post-suspension operation (the driver)
  • Possession with intent to distribute a Class B substance
  • Two counts of possession of a Class A substance
  • conspiracy
