Tragic drowning incident claims life of 19-year-old near Mhow | Indore News

Mhow: A 19-year-old youth drowned in a pond near Mhow on Sunday afternoon.
Badgonda Police Station in-charge Lokendra Singh Hirore told TOI this Faheem Khana resident of Ganglakhedi village and his five friends had gone to bathe in a pond behind Mhow PG College. While they were all enjoying the sound of the water lapping, Faheem walked towards the middle of the pond without noticing the actual depth there and started drowning.
His friends were unable to recognize his situation and only raised the alarm when they noticed Faheem's hands waving for help. They tried to save him and when they couldn't, they called for help. But by then it was too late and Faheem drowned before the villagers arrived to save him.
Police and home security teams reached the spot after receiving information and recovered the body. The body was taken to Mhow Civil Hospital and handed over to family members after autopsy.
