Bath residents are ordered to seek shelter amid the “situation”.

A protection order issued in Bath early Sunday morning has been lifted.

The announcement was made by Bath Police shortly after 9am

According to Bath Police, there is currently no danger to the public.

Police said they would remain at the scene and provide diversions. Oak Grove Avenue and Crawford Drive remain closed.

This follows an earlier announcement from the Sagadahoc Emergency Management Agency urging residents north of North Street in Bath to shelter in place amid a “situation” early Sunday morning.

Details about what led to the order and the ongoing police presence have not yet been released.

Residents were initially asked to remove keys from vehicles, lock their doors and stay inside their homes and away from interior windows.

Officers had asked anyone who noticed suspicious activity to report it to Bath Police.

A Maine State Police spokesman said the agency was assisting Bath police with the incident.

This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
