Oleksandr Kosenko: “I hope we take the chance to win medals this time”

The head coach of the Ukrainian national futsal team, Oleksandr Kosenko, commented on the defeat in the semifinals of the 2024 World Cup in Uzbekistan against Brazil (2:3).

“It is very disappointing to lose in games in which, in my opinion, we were at least no weaker and in some cases even better than the Brazilians. I thank the boys. They gave it their all. We were missing something to reach 2-2. If we had scored, we could have hoped for victory. But unfortunately… I feel very sorry for the boys. They gave it their all. You deserve more.

We had a chance once and didn't win any medals. I hope we take advantage of the opportunity this time. We'll see who our opponents will be in the bronze medal game. I hope that we will have a good rest and I believe that each of the boys will want to return home with positive emotions and win the bronze medal,” said Oleksandr Kosenko, as reported by the press service of the Futsal Federation of Ukraine.

In addition, Ukrainian futsal players still have chances for medals. On October 6, they will fight for third place in Tashkent against the loser of the Argentina-France game.
