Bruins have fun with viral Swayman videos after overtime

The Boston Bruins and goaltender Jeremy Swayman may have been unhappy with each other after the goaltender waited out camp and only joined the team when the organization granted his request and gave him $66 million in a new eight-year extension. But now that the deal is done, everyone seems to be happy again and the goalkeeper and the team are having fun with the fans and posting viral videos on Sunday mornings.

The first was a video of Swayman driving to the building to join his team on the ice. The footage shows his car pulling away and him grabbing his bag from the trunk, turning to the camera and winking. The assumption here is that he knew this deal was going to happen from the start, or that he got what he wanted and gave him an “I told you so” wink, so to speak.

Swayman also addressed fans in another video, thanking them for their support, while the Bruins posted a third with the slogan “Back to work.”

Finally a video for fans of the film Wolf of Wall Street I know Swayman offered a cheeky moment to have a little fun. Stitched together is the scene where Leonardo Dicaprio tells his employees that he “doesn't f—ing!” When he was pressured to quit as an unethical, unlawful stockbroker, Swayman used the audio from this clip to tell fans that he wouldn't go anywhere.

Swayman and Bruins seem good

There was some concern that these stressful negotiations could affect the relationship between the Bruins and Swayman, but these videos suggest otherwise. In fact, Swayman seems super excited and everything is underwater as he tries to help the Bruins be competitive again.

What Cam Neely thinks about having to raise up to $8.25 million per season to make that happen is unclear. But if history tells us anything, at some point he will say something publicly to let everyone know how he feels.
