The Crime Branch of Hyderabad Police arrests 18 accused in 10 different cases

According to a press release from the Hyderabad City Police Commissioner, authorities have arrested 18 people in various cases in a major operation by the Hyderabad City Crime Branch.
All defendants were arrested in connection with ten different cases. Of all those arrested, three were identified as key masterminds.
The Hyderabad City Cyber ​​Crime Branch conducted a special operation with six teams in different states including Karnataka, Maharashtra and Rajasthan.
“Hyderabad City Cyber ​​Crime Branch successfully conducted a special operation with six teams in different states including Karnataka, Maharashtra and Rajasthan, which led to the arrest of (18) accused, including three key masterminds. This operation resulted in the cybercrime police station uncovering ten major cases,” an official press release said.
The accused were arrested on six counts of investment fraud and one count each of digital fraud, sextortion fraud, OTP fraud and insurance fraud.
According to the press release, the arrested persons are wanted in a total of 319 cases across India, including 45 cases from Telangana.
Additionally, an amount of more than Rs 161 crore was frozen in the bank accounts of the accused.
In addition, the crime branch also seized cash worth Rs 5 lakh, 26 mobile phones, 16 ATM cards, 11 check books, 10 SIM cards, seven passbooks, two laptops and high-configuration desktops, along with a hard drive and a stamp.
On October 2, the Commissioner's Task Force (CTF) of the South West Zone of Hyderabad Police in Telangana claimed to have nabbed four inter-state drug peddlers in separate operations and seized contraband worth Rs 30 lakh.
At Habeeb Nagar police station, officials arrested Syed Abdullah (32), a resident of Mallepally, Hyderabad, who is into the art jewelry business, Anas Ahmed Shaikh (24), a senior officer at a BPO from Govandi, Mumbai; and Irfan Raju Shaikh (20), a hotel management student from Dharave, Maharashtra.
Police also seized 144.72 grams of OG ganja and four mobile phones. The seized narcotics are worth Rs 8 lakh while the mobile phones are worth Rs 2 lakh, taking the total to Rs 10 lakh
