Rookie Brock Bowers gets the Raiders on board with an improbable 57-yard catch-and-run

DENVER – Technically, Brock Bowers is a rookie tight end. Realistically, and to the delight of the Las Vegas Raiders, the No. 13 overall draft pick is a multi-talented player.

Bowers took a jump ball up the middle of the field from quarterback Gardner Minshew up and over Denver Broncos safety PJ Locke, hauled in the ball and scampered down the left sideline for a 57-yard catch-and-run touchdown for the game to achieve the first result of his career.

It was the Raiders' fourth play from scrimmage and they played without starters at receiver (Davante Adams, who is recovering from a hamstring injury while awaiting a trade) and running back (Zamir White, who suffered a groin injury in practice this week injured).

It was also Minshew's fourth TD pass in six games, giving the Raiders a 7-0 lead with 12:57 left in the first quarter.
