IN ORDER. NOW it's time for another check on our first warning weather. AND WE HAVE GOOD NEWS. IT WILL BE BEAUTIFUL AND SUNNY TODAY. ALL FESTIVAL VISITORS THAT ARE THERE WILL BE PAMPERED. You know, we actually got lucky because you remember Thursday. FRIDAY WE SAID, OH, LOOKS LIKE RAIN FOR THE WEEKEND. AND WE HAD A LITTLE RAIN IN SOME PLACES YESTERDAY, BUT I THINK WE HAD A NICE WEEKEND, ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU CONSIDER TODAY. Now let's go to the tropics, because this is Tropical Storm Milton. It's looking more and more like a hurricane to me. This is the visible satellite view showing you a very well developed tropical storm. We'll have an update from the Hurricane Center here in about ten minutes. IT'S LIKELY TO BE A HURRICANE LATER TODAY, BUT IN THE SHORT TERM WE WILL ENJOY A BEAUTIFUL, BROAD DAY. Now this east to northeast wind at around 10 to 15 miles per hour could bring some water onshore. Therefore we have a coastal flood warning in force until 7am Tuesday. NOW IT HAS BEEN EXTENDED UNTIL TUESDAY. CURRENT CONDITIONS AT LOUIS ARMSTRONG INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT SHOW YOU THAT THE BREEZE IS AT 12 MPH. Dew point at 72. But boy, the next two points will drop later next week. WE HAVE ALREADY SEEN THAT THE ATMOSPHERE BECOMES SIGNIFICANTLY DRYER WHEN THE MIDDLE AND UPPER LEVELS OF THE ATMOSPHERE ARE THEN THAT COLD FRONT WILL PASS THROUGH THE SURFACE LATE TOMORROW. Let's take another look at Milton. OVER 500 MILES FROM US. BUT THIS IS DEFINITELY MUCH BETTER ORGANIZED THAN ABOUT 24 HOURS AGO. Or so. It's looking more and more like a hurricane, here's the latest clue. Yes, still the 7 a.m. consultation. Once it's 10:00 a.m., it will automatically update with our software. So it still hasn't come out of the hurricane center. TROPICAL STORM LIKELY TO BECOME A HURRICANE TODAY. VERY POSSIBLY A CATEGORY THREE HURRICANE THAT CLICKED FLORIDA ON WEDNESDAY. AND THE COMPUTER MODELS WHERE THEY ACTUALLY TEND A LITTLE FURTHER TO THE SOUTH. That was the trend we saw in the last eight hours. Apparently none of the models come anywhere near us in Louisiana. Here's kind of a bigger picture to show you what should be happening out here in the Gulf. TOMORROW THE COLD FRONT WILL COME TO US ALL DAY LONG. IT WILL PROBABLY BE POSTPONED UNTIL TOMORROW EVENING. THIS COLD FRONT HELPS DIRECT THE STORM AND AS THE SYSTEM AUTOMATICALLY BEGINS TO INTERACT, I SHOULD SAY THAT WITH THIS COLD FRONT IT MAY ACTUALLY LOSE SOME OF ITS TROPICAL FEATURES. LATE TUESDAY OR WEDNESDAY, BUT the fact is: It's going to be very bad weather for Florida. Again, the current forecast is for a Category 3 storm, but here's the front that's moving through for us. WE WILL SEE SIGNIFICANTLY DRYER AIR FROM TUESDAY MORNING. ON TUESDAY MORNING YOU WANT TO SET THE ALARM 15 MINUTES EARLIER BECAUSE IT WILL BE VERY CONVENIENT. First off, today will be mostly sunny and a little breezy, with high temperatures in the mid 80s. Tonight the sky will be mostly clear. TOMORROW IT WILL BE A LITTLE HUMMY FIRST MORNING FOR YOU, BUT THEN THE HUMID HEAT SHOULD BE OVER. PARTLY CLOUDY AND Scattered showers are in the forecast as this front moves through, but the chance of rain is officially less than 10%. And then we have a chance of less than 10% rain by the start of next weekend. But look at the morning temperatures. YOU WILL NOTICE THE COOLER AND DRYER AIR, ESPECIALLY ON THE NORTH COAST. First thing on Tuesday morning. BUT THEN WEDNESDAY, THURSDAY AND FRIDAY MORNINGS WILL BE IN THE 50S ON THE NORTH COAST AND THE MORNINGS MAY ACTUALLY GET A LITTLE COOLER THROUGH THE END OF THE WEEK. We may have an increasing intake of the cooler air that arrives for us with temperatures so high in the low 80s. THURSDAY, FRIDAY AND SATURDAY. CHANCE IT WILL RAIN NOW. YOU DON'T SEE IT ON THE GRAPHIC THERE, BUT MAYBE IT'S A BIT LIKE SUNDAY. SO ENJOY! As soon as the cold front moves through late into the night, we'll take a look
