Wrong-way driver accident closes M10 near Lahser

Police are investigating a crash in the northbound lanes of the M10 in Lahser on Sunday September 29th.

Michigan State Police are investigating a serious crash on the M10 in Lahser on Sunday that forced them to close the highway.

Shortly after 5pm, police were called to the northbound lane of The Lodge (M10) in Lahser about a serious accident. FOX 2 has learned that a wrong-way driver hit a northbound driver head-on between Evergreen and Lahser.

Authorities did not provide details about the accident but called it “serious” and asked them to close the highway for an investigation.

A witness told FOX 2's Camille Amiri she saw the car going the wrong way, but did not say how the car got onto the highway.

Airbags were deployed in both vehicles involved at the scene of the accident.

Motorists traveling north on The Lodge are asked to find an alternative route.
