Ithaca man arrested on 20 warrants – Finger Lakes Daily News

An Ithaca man who has 20 warrants for his arrest was arrested after he was spotted by police at the Apple Festival in Tompkins County.

After a uniformed Itahca police officer approached the 39-year-old to inform him of his arrest warrants, Jessiah Jones became unresponsive. He then resisted arrest when police attempted to take him into custody.

Ultimately, Jones was charged with resisting arrest, criminal mischief and reckless damage to another person's property. He was also arrested on 13 warrants for trespassing, five warrants for petit theft and a single warrant for harassment and criminal possession of a controlled substance.

At his final words, Jones was being held at the Tompkins County Jail for arraignment

The fact that a defendant is accused of a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
