The Galaxy S25 Ultra case and dummy leaks show a more well-rounded smartphone

TL;DR

  • New leaks show a dummy unit and a transparent case of the Galaxy S25 Ultra.
  • These leaks confirm the upcoming flagship's flat sides and softer corners.

One of my biggest complaints with the Galaxy S24 Ultra was the phone's sharp corners that dug into my palm. Therefore, using the device was a challenge as the size of the phone also doesn't make it easy to grip the phone securely. Although Samsung has smoothed out the midframe to give us more surface area to grip the phone, I still want a top-end Galaxy S flagship with rounded corners. It seems that's exactly what Samsung has in mind, as Galaxy S25 Ultra leaks show a device with more rounded corners than its predecessors.

We've already seen leaked renders of the Galaxy S25 Ultra, which showed us our first look at this design change. Now we have hands-on photos and videos of a dummy device and case, giving us a much better idea of how the phone would fit in our hands.

Leaker xleaks7 has shared images and a video of a Galaxy S25 Ultra dummy unit via OnlineSolitaire. With dimensions of 162.82 x 77.65 x 8.25 mm, the phone is larger than ever in the hand and is therefore slightly taller, narrower and thinner than its predecessor (162.3 x 79 x 8.6 mm) .

What is noticeable are the rounded corners of the device, which are less sharp than on the Galaxy S24 Ultra. The corner radius remains quite narrow, but at least we can be relieved that the device will likely be less of a hassle to hold and grip than the Galaxy S24 Ultra (although previous Ultras were even worse in terms of ergonomics). The sides also appear flatter.

NextLeaker Ice Universe also shared a hands-on video of a clear case for the Galaxy S25 Ultra confirms what we know about the device so far.

The case leak also shows that the S Pen position on the Galaxy S25 Ultra could be close to the edge of the device, confirming what we saw in the leaked renders.

Note that these still count as leaks at the end of the day. We'll have to wait for Samsung to officially announce the device, which is expected to be in early 2025. Until then, you should view all leaks with caution and a healthy dose of skepticism.
