Man charged in fatal Pepin County crash reaches plea agreement

PEPIN COUNTY, Wis. (WEAU) – An Arkansaw, Wisconsin man charged in a fatal crash in Pepin County will be sentenced following a plea agreement.

Court records show 55-year-old Bradley Holz pleaded guilty to murder by negligent operation of a vehicle.

According to court documents, the court was impressed by the family's forgiveness and leniency toward Holz.

Court records also indicate that the court believes a fair settlement was reached.

Holz is sentenced to 4 years probation and 9 months conditional imprisonment with release privileges. Wood should also abstain from the possession and consumption of alcohol.

According to the criminal complaint, on Sunday, June 18, 2023, authorities responded to an ATV/UTV rollover with ejection on County Road Z near the intersection of County Road G in the town of Waterville.

The criminal complaint states that when officers arrived, they noticed several cans of alcoholic beverages lying on the roadway.

According to the criminal complaint, a dead woman was found lying on the roadway and two injured men were also found lying in the grass.

Authorities identified one of the men as Bradley Holz. When officers spoke to Holz, they thought they could smell the odor of intoxicants coming from his breath.

Authorities gathered information indicating that Holz was the driver of the UTV at the time of the accident.
