19-year-old is accused of robbing a woman a week after bringing a gun to school, police say

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – A 19-year-old is spending a week in jail after being accused of bringing a gun to school on September 25th.

Javarious Sistrunk is charged with aggravated robbery and possession of a controlled substance.

According to police, on September 30, a woman was robbed as she walked to a store on South Parkway Boulevard.

Three people approached her from behind. A man pointed a gun at her and told her to drop her things.

The woman handed over her phone and purse.

She saw the suspects walk into a nearby Dollar General.

After requesting assistance from police in the area, officers arrived at Dollar General and arrested Sistrunk along with two others.

They were at the EcoATM machine, police said.

Officers found the victim's phone in the trash can and two guns hidden in merchandise in the store.

The affidavit states that police officers also found 13.8 grams of marijuana on Sistrunk.
