Fugitive arrested in LA in connection with Boston double shooting

Federal agents arrested a wanted fugitive in Los Angeles this week in connection with a May shooting that injured two people in Boston. Twaldo Baez, 18, of South Boston, was arrested Wednesday in LA by members of the US Marshals Task Force. Boston police said in a statement that the arrest was the culmination of a “lengthy investigation” by the department's fugitive unit. Baez was wanted on warrants for two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, a firearm. Police said he became a suspect after two people showed up at a Boston hospital with gunshot wounds shortly after midnight on May 22. Investigators determined the two were injured in a shooting on Joyce Hayes Way in South Boston.
