Pedestrian killed in hit-and-run crash in East Portland

A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run accident in Portland's Hazelwood neighborhood Friday evening, police said.

The incident occurred at East Burnside Street and Northeast 113th Avenue around 10 p.m. When officers arrived, they found the pedestrian dead at the scene. The driver or drivers involved fled and have not yet been found, the police said.

The Portland Police Bureau's Major Crash Team is investigating. East Burnside Street between Northeast 109th Avenue and Southeast Pine Court was closed while police investigated.
