Car crash sparks fire, power outage in southwest Miami-Dade – NBC 6 South Florida

Power has been restored to a neighborhood in southwest Miami-Dade after residents said a car crash sparked flames and an hours-long power outage Sunday morning.

The accident occurred in the area of ​​SW 9th Street and 87th Avenue. The video shows the damaged car after it collided with the utility pole and a large fire nearby.

Residents at the Gallowood Condominiums near SW 94th Street and 87th Avenue told NBC6 that power went out around 3 a.m. and was restored hours later.

Neighbor Adrian Gonzalez said he rushed out of his house after hearing the loud crash. Several witnesses said the impact knocked down power lines onto nearby trees, which then burst into flames.

“There’s just a screech and a crash,” Gonzalez said. “When I came out there was a fire. It was pretty crazy.”
