Crash on Route 3 in Plymouth, MA – NBC Boston

On Sunday evening, a vehicle crashed into a forest on Route 3 in Plymouth, Massachusetts, seriously injuring two men in the vehicle, including the driver, who was trapped.

The Plymouth Fire Department responded that at approximately 8:11 p.m. they responded to Route 3 for a report of a single vehicle entrapment accident and found a vehicle that had veered from the southbound lanes into the woods .

The driver of the vehicle, an adult man, was severely trapped and it took firefighters about 20 minutes to free him using hydraulic recovery tools, the fire department said. He was flown by Boston MedFlight to a trauma center in Rhode Island.

The passenger, another adult male, was also seriously injured in the accident and was treated by firefighters. He was then taken by ambulance to South Shore Hospital in Weymouth, the fire department said.

There was no immediate information about their condition or what caused the vehicle they were in to leave the road.

Massachusetts State Police are investigating.
