Parents want answers after Kent high school arrest

Parents in the Kent School District are searching for answers after police arrested a student in a classroom last week.

According to an email from KSD to parents at Kentridge High School, police went into a classroom and took the student into custody.

The email does not indicate why the student was arrested, and KSD officials refused to answer our questions about the incident.

Kent Police confirmed they had arrested a student but did not release any further information. Investigators say they are not releasing any further information because the case is still under investigation.

There are still many unanswered questions for parents.

“What was he arrested for? I mean, was there anything here at school? Was it something outside of school? Was there an arrest warrant for the boy? I don't know it. Any information would be good,” said Ryan Branch.

Branch is a freshman at Kentridge High School. He tells FOX 13 Seattle it's concerning that there have been two incidents on his child's campus in less than a month.

In early September, police were on the Kentridge HS campus due to an armed teenage car theft suspect who stops his crime inside the school.

“It's worrying. It seems like things are getting worse in this area,” Branch said.
