Wanted Cheyenne transient arrested and charged

A 53-year-old transient from Cheyenne is facing multiple charges, including burglary and theft, after he was arrested on two warrants.

According to a booking docket, Troy Dewayne Black was arrested at 9:47 a.m. Friday, Sept. 27, after police were dispatched to Countryside Avenue and Medicine Man Trail for a report of a wanted person and found him in a mobile home on the north side had contacted the street.

Police said Black had two warrants out of Laramie County.

The first motion was for failure to appear on the original charges of driving on a suspended license and leaving the scene of an accident, both misdemeanors, and was signed by District Court Judge Thomas Lee on September 23, 2024.

The second complaint was for burglary, theft and negligent destruction of property and was signed by District Court Judge Sean Chambers on September 26, 2024.

Black was taken to the Laramie County Detention Center, where he went through the booking process without incident.

Bond set at $3,000 cash

Black was seen in District Court on Monday, September 30, with his bond set at $3,000 cash and his preliminary hearing scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday, October 7
