Attempted murder suspect leads police on high-speed chase

OZARK, Ala. (WTVY) – An Ozark man is in custody after a high-speed chase Monday.

Ozark police launched an investigation into an attempted murder case last month. According to an OPD statement, that investigation led to 23-year-old Kaleb Bowen.

Police spotted Bowen driving on Dean Church Road and attempted to pull him over. Bowen was unable to stop and led officers on a high-speed chase.

The chase lasted several miles before Bowen stopped the car and ran off on foot. After a three-hour search, he was taken into custody near the intersection of Dean Church Road and Campground Road.

Police said Bowen was checked by medical staff for exhaustion after the chase. He was acquitted and arrested on charges of attempted murder and attempted evasion of law enforcement.

Bowen is being held at the Dale County Jail awaiting court hearings.
